Remodeling your bedroom will give you a chance to express your creativeness.
Today bedrooms are a retreat. We sleep there, read, and watch television or even our office is in our bedroom. Our bedrooms are many things and places. The perfect bedroom is comfortable.
First you will need to decide how you will use your bedroom. Is it only used for sleeping, or part-time den? Office? What will make you feel special when you enter your bedroom? Once you have decided that one can decide what changes can be made to achieve what you want in your bedroom.
Consider your bedroom floor plan. Your furniture will need more room than actual space it takes up. For example your bed will need at least two feet on either side for easy bed making, dressers and closets need at least three feet in front to allow to pull our the drawers or open doors. Allow easy walking distance to the closet and bathrooms.
Your bedroom can be set in a traditional, country, contemporary setting. In a traditional setting your bedroom looks best when you are able to center the bed and two night stands on one wall. As for country, the bedroom is less balanced. Your bed can be diagonal from a corner or off to one side of the room. Balance will be achieved with an armoire or a reading chair with light. Contemporary setting is achieved by more storage and less clutter with bold bed accents around the room.
So many things can be done. By changing your window treatments that are light blocking or add a ceiling fan which will make sleeping more comfortable. Simple changes, rearranging furniture and rid room of clutter will assist you in achieving your comfort.
To achieve your desired comfort level you may need to change your lighting with three-way switches so you can read and work with the higher brightness and the lower lighting for ambience. If you love music, you may want a sound system. As you read or relax in your bedroom or work in your office music in the background is a plus to any atmosphere.
